Pam's Hearts at Home Quilt

Overview

This is a lap size quilt.  The blocks section is 36" x 48".  I've added only one border to frame the quilt giving it a finished size of  40" x 52".  By adding more borders you can  increase the size nicely.

This one is a combination of 2 Theme Blocks with 4  blocks of traditional styles.  I've also allowed some areas for you to customize the quilt. (Have I made you curious?)

I hope you enjoy the little bit of symbolism I've employed with each different block chosen for this quilt.

By the way,  it is an excellent candidate for a controlled "Scrap" look. I'll explain where you can use scraps & where to keep it more plain as each block is presented. :)

I'm doing mine in a very country look, just because it suits me, but I've played around with very traditional fabric choices too and it will be equally as lovely if you choose to limit your fabric selections to a coordinated look of about 4 or 5 fabrics.

bright light (plain or mottled)   medium light (I suggest something that is not heavily patterned, such as a pattern over a light airy background- hmmm...is this clear as mud?)  1 or 2  medium (mid tones- patterned or not as you wish) And at least one mid dark.

Block #3 . It is still pieced in straight lines but is slightly rounded for a soft heart,  You can mix the fabrics or make them all one colour if you so wish.

Twist-n-Turn. Block #6

This is a Twist-n-Turn block with your choice of making it with a single piece centre, or crazy patch.  What else can this represent but a journey of life. Each one of us experiences  those ups and downs, and yes sometimes life seems a little crazy; yet somehow those pieces come together and we find balance.
